#014 Coronavirus BONUS Episode. Public Information Officers and crisis communicators are working tirelessly at health departments and local, state and federal public agencies to keep everyone informed about the rapidly-changing impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the associated restrictions and other efforts being implemented to combat its spread and save lives.
Many have been at it full speed for two or more weeks, and to further complicate things, are having to do their jobs in a work-from-home environment. Many report that they are really feeling the stress of meeting demands in a high-demand workflow, without the benefit of having workmates right there with them, and while also dealing with children in the home and other demands and distractions.
In this bonus episode, Kerry's guest, registered clinical counsellor Julia Kristina, M.A. Psych, gives specific ways to reduce stay-at-home stress so you can feel calmer. more in control, and keep doing the great work you do in this new environment.
Due to scheduling challenges, this episode was not produced in an interview-format, but comes from a special recording I asked Julia to do for me and my listeners.
Julia's advice was first shared in the Government Social Media Community Facebook Group, which is composed of more than 2,500 Public Information Officers and social media coordinators who work for health departments and local, state and federal government agencies.
Julia has a robust YouTube channel with an awesome collection of weekly videos she produces tackling mindset, anxiety, healthy boundaries, and other mental wellness issues.
